Comments

When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.

An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.

Advertising

We do not track visitors for the purpose of providing targeted advertising, therefore our website does not respond to Do Not Track signals from your browser.

Contact forms

When you send an email to DriFlower via our contact form, we collect the information you enter into the form for the purpose of sending your email. We keep this information in the website’s database for the purpose of recovering emails in the event they are not properly delivered.

This server data used for the exclusive purpose of monitoring and preventing abuse and spam. Your subscription information is stored in our account at MailChimp. View MailChimp’s Privacy policy HERE.

If you leave a comment on our site you may opt-in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.

If you visit our login page, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.

Embedded content from other websites

Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.

These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracking your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website.

We collect Device Information using the following technologies:

– “Cookies” are data files that are placed on your device or computer and often include an anonymous unique identifier. For more information about cookies, and how to disable cookies, visit http://www.allaboutcookies.org.

We refer to this information as “Order Information.”

When we talk about “Personal Information” in this Privacy Policy, we are talking both about Device Information and Order Information.

How We Use your Personal Information

We use the Order Information that we collect generally to fulfill any orders you place through the Site (including processing your payment information, arranging for shipping, and providing you with invoices and/or order confirmations). Additionally, we use this Order Information to:

  • Communicate with you
  • Screen our orders for potential risk or fraud; and
  • When in line with the preferences you have shared with us, provide you with information relating to our products or services.

We use the Device Information that we collect to help us screen for potential risk and fraud (in particular, your IP address), and more generally to improve and optimize our Site (for example, by generating analytics about how our customers browse and interact with the Site, and to assess the success of our marketing and advertising campaigns).

Sharing Your Personal Information

We share your Personal Information with third parties to help us use your Personal Information, as described above. For example, we use Google Analytics to help us understand how our customers use the Site–you can read more about how Google uses your Personal Information here: https://www.google.com/intl/en/policies/privacy/. You can also opt-out of Google Analytics here: https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.

Finally, we may also share your Personal Information to comply with applicable laws and regulations, to respond to a subpoena, search warrant or other lawful request for information we receive, or to otherwise protect our rights.

Your Rights

If you are a European resident, you have the right to access personal information we hold about you and to ask that your personal information be corrected, updated, or deleted. If you would like to exercise this right, please contact us through the contact information below. Additionally, if you are a European resident we note that we are processing your information in order to fulfill contracts we might have with you (for example if you make an order through the Site), or otherwise to pursue our legitimate business interests listed above. Additionally, please note that your information will be transferred outside of Europe, including to Canada and the United States.

Data Retention

When you place an order through the Site, we will maintain your Order Information for our records unless and until you ask us to delete this information.

MINORS: The Site is not intended for individuals under the age of 21.

How We Protect Your Information

All information transmitted to and from our website by an SSL certificate. An SSL certificate is a file installed on a web server that ensures that the domain name in the certificate matches the domain name of the site being visited. It enables a visitor’s browser to make a secure connection to the site and allows the traffic back and forth to be encrypted so third-parties cannot eavesdrop on the conversation. Encryption is critical whenever financial transactions are being made on a site, or any other sensitive information is being passed back and forth.

The SSL certificate that protects our website is a Premium AlphaSSL Wildcard Certificate with 256 bit encryption – the strongest in use today. AlphaSSL Wildcard Certificates are recognized by all popular browsers and mobile devices where wildcard technology is supported. Our Certificate is issued from the 2048 bit GlobalSign Root Certificate – one of the longest operating and most trusted Authorities in the world.

Technical note: modern web servers don’t really use the SSL (Secure Socket Layer) protocol anymore, but the name has stuck to security certificates as kind of a generic identifier, so we use “SSL” in this statement. The TLS (Transport Layer Security) protocol has replaced SSL for most uses.

Change

We may update this privacy policy from time to time in order to reflect, for example, changes to our practices or for other operational, legal or regulatory reasons.
